The New Documents Exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art [MOMA] New York, held in 1967 was conceived by John Szarkowski. It featured the works of:
Diana Arbus
Lee Friedlander
Garry Winogrand
Szarkowski siad of the photographers ...

These photographers were greatly influenced by Walker Evans and Robert Frank ... and their respective publications ... "American Photographs" [Walker Evans] ... and "The Americans" [Robert Frank]...
